Students from Nursery Class celebrated ‘Fruit Day’. The day was full of fruits and fruity knowledge. Each student brought different fruits to the class.
They kept all fruits in one big basket. The basket was looking very colourful and attractive. It was full of Apples, Pineapples, Kiwis, Oranges, Papayas, Watermelons, Litchis, Plums, Custard apples, Avocados, Dragon fruits, Grapes, Bananas and Guavas.
The concept behind this class activity was to create taste for all fruits, cultivate the good habit of eating fruits and also to make the students understand about colours, taste, look and feel of fruits. The children also learnt about single seeded fruits, seedless ones, and many seeded ones.
The students were very excited about that big colourful fruity basket and listened with rapt attention when the teacher introduced the name, colour, taste, look and feel of them. Turn by turn she asked students to observe the fruits closely. They were thrilled when they were told to wash the fruits. They wiped the fruits with glee.
The teacher warned the little ones about knives and other similar sharp equipment in the kitchen and house and also the dangers associated with careless handling of the same.
She warned them that they have to take the help of adults while using these sharp instruments.
They were happy to say the words colourful, tasty, yummy, juicy, delicious. Indeed, . Every Plate was Happy Plate, and every face had a fruity smile!!!
